TEST TVF
At Semillas Fitó we have set ourselves the goal of offering seeds of the highest quality.
Seeds need to germinate in very diverse conditions, do so uniformly and quickly, be free of all kinds of diseases and if possible, be resistant to pathogens in the places where they are grown.
The traditional methodologies used for germination tests in maize, following the regulations, did not reflect a real crop growing scenario. They were undemanding techniques performed in optimal conditions, where the purpose was only and exclusively to obtain germination data.
The intention of our Fitó Test of Vigour (TVF®) is to provide added value to our seeds and thus not only provide our customers with seeds that germinate in optimal conditions, but also have the ability to react when the growing conditions are adverse.
This is only possible by assessing the VIGOUR of the seed batch under thermal "stress" conditions.
HOW IT IS PERFORMED?
Germination of 200 seeds in the ground at low temperatures for 18 days.
The number of plants grown at 18 days are counted and the germination and homogeneity of the batch (vigour) is assessed.
